Can somebody help please? My printer requires the file USBSTOR.inf, which I've so far downloaded to desktop. But now what do I do with it?

Me too--I needed, and have copied to a folder, usb.inf, usbstor.inf, certclas.inf (three times) and nt.print.inf.
I renamed them .reg but cannot send them to windows\inf because it is hidden. When I go to control panel/folder options, it won't open up.
I did sent them to windows/system32-but I think I made an error in doing so. HELP.

After this post in Apr and Aug 2007 and this post in Feb 2008 with no responses I don't hold much hope in getting a response to my question. Same as the others. How do you get the file installed??

I am brand new to this site but from what I see it reminds me of the PalmPDA Q & A board.  Tons of questions that no one responds to.

Any one reading this PLEASE respond.

TIA,
Sam

I have to respond to my own post.
I was concerned that the file I D/L  was not the proper one and no way to verify it's name.
After some discussion, on another Forum, I decided to rename the D/L  file to USBSTOR.INF and put it in Windows/inf
As I went to rename it the "SBSTOR.INF SEE Instructions" the name USBSTOR.INF appeared in the Rename window.
I moved this file to mt Windows/inf and did a reboot.
The installation of my new printer went off with our a hitch.

If you are using Windows Xp you can right click on the file and go to "Install" a box will pop up click the "Open" button and the .inf file should install.
